The Day I Didn’t Write

Everybody needs a rest
A little break in life
Time to spend with little ones
Do projects for your wife
You need to take a breather
Practice small respite
Cease from work’s long burden
Relaxing muscles tight
The brain, it needs some freedom
To frolic and to play
A week’s end to the working
A retreat to think and pray
That is why I had decided
That today I would not write
But then I realized in the telling
I committed minor oversight
For now my mind is burdened
My thoughts found in a fog
For I did not actually cease from writing
