The Measure of a Man
Romans 10.9 …that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Titus 1.16 They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.
If the word Christian has come to mean everything that it should not, how do we accurately measure a man? By his words and his actions.
The word Christian is a loaded gun. I have been judged inaccurately many times by others based on this fact. People are quick to apply stereotypical labels on me based on the word Christian. I have been called a hypocrite, a hater, a bigot, a racist – all based on a single word. I am none of those things. I may have displayed ignorance and at times behaved in those ways, but this was in no way tied to my Christianity.
You don’t know me until you have heard my music, perused my writings, talked to me. Do not judge me based on a single word that I may apply to myself, judge me by my works – but do judge me for I will do the same to you. I will apply the same measure to you that I would want applied to me. I will do my best to look at all the facts and do my most to know you.
I am a philosophical follower of Jesus Christ. You don’t know me until we have met, so don’t think you do.
